A NOTE TO MEMBERS/ PARENTS/ GUARDIANS​

  1. All members must complete the application process. LCKA (La Canada Kendo Academy) will NOT accept phone or oral registration.
  2. All members accept that LCKA Membership dues are on a quarterly (three months) basis except emergency matter that LCKA approves and must register through YMCA of the Foothill system.
  3. The class of LCKA holds at both places at YMCA of the Foothills and Community Center of La Canada Flintridge.
  4. All members accept that LCKA class may be conducted by other masters or black belt members when Master Ahn is not available.
  5. All members accept that Master Ahn may not be available to teach the members when he is out of town.
  6. LCKA has a right to refuse any person who is not qualified as a member of LCKA by discretion of masters.
  7. All members understand that LCKA belongs to AUSKF (All United States Kendo Federation), WKF (Western Kendo Federation) and understand that members can not earn a rank or attend a tournament holding by these organizations without paying annual membership fees and meeting other requirements.
  8. All members understand that AUSKF requires a minimum age of 14 years or older in order to earn the black belt rank. This means that members under the age of 14 cannot earn a black belt until he/she reaches the age of 14.
  9. All members understand that it may take over 3 years to earn the black belt rank because of a lack of his/her discipline level, technical skills, etc.
  10. All members understand that WKF issues a certificate of Rank from the 9th Keup(Kyu) to the 3rd Dan Black Belt.
  11. All members understand that LCKA has liability insurance coverage up to $1M for personal injury and $2M for general aggregate and the insurance will cover only members who paid all required annual membership fees.
